Who it is for
School administrators, teachers (inside a school or on their own) and their students. Parents can follow linked students.
The problem it solves
Teachers often keep questions in scattered Word files, rebuild exams by hand and grade on paper. Students get results late and rarely see what they got wrong. Smart Edu keeps the question bank, the lessons and the exams in one place and grades objective questions automatically.
What you can do today
- Organisations and roles. A school (organisation) has administrators, teachers, students and parents, each with role-based permissions. Teachers without a school can work in a personal space.
- Question bank with imports. Single choice, multiple choice, short answer, ordering and word-ordering questions. Import from Word (.docx) or Excel (.xlsx) templates with a preview step that flags invalid rows and possible duplicates before anything is saved; questions can be grouped by topic.
- Lessons. Rich-text lessons with learning objectives, key takeaways and attached practice questions. Students read a lesson step by step — each Heading 1/2 in the lesson becomes a step.
- Online exams. Exams with sections, time limits, question and answer shuffling, automatic progress checkpoints, optional IP restrictions, and a per-section policy for how much of the answer key students see afterwards.
- Public-code exams. An exam can be opened to people without an account: they enter an access code and their name, and can see their own result in that browser session.
- Results and analytics. Objective questions are graded automatically; teachers see per-student results and class-level reports.
How it works
- Each exam attempt gets its own paper built from a manual question list or from question pools filtered by the exam's subject.
- Submissions are protected against tampering, so an answer sheet cannot be altered, re-sent or moved to another student's attempt.
- AI-assisted question generation exists for teachers, but generated questions wait on a review page until an authorised reviewer approves them — nothing enters the question bank automatically.
Current limitations
Being clear about what a product doesn't do yet is part of describing it honestly.
- Essay and other free-text answers are not graded automatically.
- The interface is built for Vietnamese schools first; English is available and other translations are incomplete.
- Smart Edu is focused on lessons, question banks and exams; it is not a full school management system (fees, HR, etc.).
